Truck Accidents in New Jersey

It’s helpful to know what factors often contribute to crashes involving large trucks:
- Blind Spots: Large trucks have significant blind spots on all four sides. Cars lingering in these areas can go unnoticed by truck drivers, leading to dangerous lane changes or merging accidents.
- Wide Turns: Tractor-trailers require extra space to make turns, especially right turns. Drivers who try to squeeze by or pass on the inside can put themselves in a dangerous position.
- Stopping Distances: Trucks take longer to stop than smaller vehicles due to their weight. If a car cuts in front of a truck too closely, the truck driver may not be able to stop in time to avoid a collision.
- Driver Fatigue: Long hours on the road can lead to exhausted truck drivers. Fatigue slows reaction times and impairs judgment, increasing the chance of an accident.
- Weather Conditions: Rain, fog, or snow can make operating a large truck even more challenging. Poor weather reduces visibility and traction, making it harder to maintain control and stop safely.
