Manchester, NJ (June 9, 2023) – A man lost his life in a fatal pedestrian crash on Saturday, June 3, in Manchester Township. He was identified as Paul Mount, age 45.

Mount lost his life in a pedestrian crash when he was struck by two vehicles on Ridgeway Road, also known as County Route 571, while he was crossing at the intersection with Washington Avenue. Police and paramedics went to the scene to render aid, where they found Mount lying in the roadway.

Sadly, despite lifesaving efforts, Mount died at the crash scene. The two vehicles were identified as a black 2021 Toyota Highlander and a black 2018 Ford Explorer. Mount was crossing Ridgeway Road at the intersection when he was struck by the vehicles.

The Ford was driven by a 21-year-old Jackson resident and occupied by two other passengers, while the Toyota was driven by a 27-year-old. None of the vehicle occupants suffered any injuries, sources said.

Officials with the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department, detectives from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigations Unit, and other responders were seen rendering aid at the crash scene.
