Mansfield, NJ (December 18, 2025) – A serious house fire in Mansfield Township left one man critically injured and sent five first responders to area hospitals on Tuesday morning, December 16, according to local officials. The fire broke out around 8:58 a.m. at a home on Fireside Circle in the Homestead community.
Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the residence. The Franklin Fire Company immediately began rescue efforts after learning someone remained inside the home. During the operation, crews pulled an adult man from the burning structure. Officials said the victim initially required resuscitation efforts but began breathing on his own while emergency personnel continued providing care.
Due to the severity of his condition, medical crews airlifted the man to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia for advanced treatment. Authorities have not released details regarding the extent of his injuries, but officials described the situation as serious.
Five first responders also suffered injuries while battling the fire. Officials confirmed that all five experienced smoke inhalation during the rescue and suppression efforts. Emergency medical teams transported them to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment. Their conditions were not immediately released.
