Marlborough, NY – Two Killed in Car Accident on SR-9W, One in Wheelchair
Marlborough, NY (March 8, 2024) – Police in Marlborough are currently investigating a fatal crash that took the lives of two Kingston residents, one of whom was in a wheelchair. The two pedestrians were crossing State Route 9 West at around 9:23 on March 1 when they were struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene. The crash occurred across the street from a popular music venue called the Falcon. Preliminary reports show Donna Cristallo, 72, was pushing 75-year-old Stephen Celuch while trying to cross the roadway when a Kia Forte struck them both. Celuch was pronounced deceased on-site. Cristallo was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The vehicle, operated by a woman, age 25, did not stop at the scene but was later stopped by police on North Plank Road.
