Massapequa, NY – One Injured in Accident on Southern State Pkwy near exit 32

Massapequa, NY (January 6, 2023) – A man from Nassau County was arrested Thursday night, January 5, after he collided with another vehicle and injured the driver due to driving while intoxicated. 

On January 5, at around 10:30 p.m., the suspect crashed into the rear-end of a 2021 Toyota Tacoma near exit 32 on the Southern State Parkway. The crash forced the Toyota off the road and into a nearby tree on the shoulder. 

The Toyota’s driver was transported to Nassau University Medical Center with a punctured lung and broken ribs. The driver at fault was arrested at the scene of the crash and charged with vehicular assault in the first degree. 

Authorities in Massapequa are still investigating the details of the accident.
