Monroe, NJ – Teenage Girl Killed in Fatal Crash on S Black Horse Pike
Monroe, NJ (July 18, 2023) – A girl from Gloucester County lost her life after being hit by a car while riding her bike on Wednesday evening, July 12. The incident happened in the 300 block of Route 22/South Black Horse Pike in front of a Wawa in Williamstown.
At approximately 7:00 p.m., Monroe Township Police went to the scene to find the 14-year-old girl with life-threatening injuries. Reports show that she was riding a mountain bike when she attempted to cross Route 322 from the Wawa entrance when she was involved in a collision with a vehicle at the intersection with New Brooklyn Road.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident, a 36-year-old man from Williamstown, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. The teenage girl, age 14, was transported to a nearby hospital and then airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where she lost her life.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
