Rockaway Twp, NJ – Maxima Arcibal Killed, Two Hurt in Collision on I-80 near Milepost 34.4

Rockaway Twp, NJ (November 22, 2023) – A woman lost her life and two other people suffered injuries after a traffic accident in Rockaway Township. Reports show the wreck occurred on Interstate 80 on Tuesday morning, November 21. New Jersey State Police and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after it occurred at around 6:51 a.m. The wreck happened on Interstate 80 near milepost 34.4 when a Hyundai passenger vehicle and a Ford van were both headed westbound. The Hyundai tried to change lanes and collided with the Ford, sources said. 

The Hyundai’s driver was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital. A passenger in the Hyundai, identified as Maxima Arcibal, 65, of Dover, was fatally injured. The driver of the Ford suffered injuries deemed minor, according to reports. Police continue to investigate.
