Wall, NJ – Two-Car Collision Ends in Injuries on Rt 35 near 18th Ave
Wall, NJ (October 10, 2023) – A man from Georgia who was driving with a suspended license was charged with reckless driving after he was involved in a two-car collision that injured two people. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 7, at around 6:45 p.m.
Police went to the scene of the collision involving the Georgia man and a couple from Point Pleasant. Reports show the collision occurred on Route 35 near 18th Avenue. Multiple injuries resulted from the incident, and the three people had to be removed from their vehicles by fire crews.
Police say a 2011 Nissan Altima operated by Mitchell G. Holley, a 34-year-old male from Linburn, Georgia, was headed south on Highway 35 when he entered the northbound lane and struck a 2023 Mazda CX3. The CX3 was operated by a man, age 39, and a woman, age 31, both from Point Pleasant.
All three individuals were extricated from their vehicles and transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Holley was found to be driving under a suspended license and was issued a reckless driving summons along with a summons for driving while suspended.
Highway 35 was closed from Wall Church Road to 18th Avenue while emergency responders worked in the area for approximately 90 minutes. Police in Wall continue to investigate the details of the collision.
