Structure Collapse Injuries in New Jersey
Nobody ever expects any part of a house or building to collapse, regardless of being finished and occupied, undergoing construction, or slated for demolition. Total and partial collapses can and do occur and the outcome of either could possibly cause severe injuries or even fatalities.
A partial collapse might be the collapse of a staircase, ceiling, or floor that gives way and causes a fall. Collapses like these can be brought on by decaying conditions caused by leaking water, mold, or damage from fire. To avoid these dangerous accidents, building owners, landlords, and supervisors are required to respond immediately when conditions such as these are made known to them.
Full or partial collapses can also arise from mistakes made in a house’s construction or design. To avoid these kinds of cave-ins, contractors, architects, construction firms, and engineers are required to abide by all state building codes.
