New York Traffic Crashes
Car accidents happen constantly in New York. In fact, over 130,000 collisions are reported per year in the Empire State. Across the nation, every day, over 17,000 accidents happen, which cause injuries to around 7,500 people. These wrecks happen for several different reasons, however, the majority are caused by negligent driving.
At the top of drivers’ list of negligent actions is intoxication. Over 30% of the national accident fatality rate is caused by drunk/high driving. Driver intoxication is one of the most dangerous types of negligent driving due to the fact that intoxicated drivers are totally impaired, with their vision, judgment, and reaction times extremely reduced.
