Bronx, NY - Major MVA on Deegan Expwy near Van Cortlandt Park S

Bronx, NY (April 5, 2023) - On the evening of April 5, a car crash happened in the Bronx that caused injuries and traffic delays. Emergency responders were seen working in the area shortly after the crash happened. 

Reports from authorities show the collision occurred on the Deegan Expressway near Van Cortlandt Park South. Traffic was stopped back to 179th Street while police and paramedics were present. 

At least one person was taken by ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for injuries they sustained in the accident. The names of the involved parties have not been reported at this time. 

Police continue to investigate.
