Commack, NY – Ilona Kaydanov Loses Life, Two Injured in Pedestrian Crash on Harned Rd

Commack, NY (August 31, 2023) – Police in Commack responded to the scene of a severe pedestrian accident on Thursday morning, August 31. Calls were made to authorities concerning the collision at around 8:30 a.m. 

A woman identified as Ilona Kaydanov and her two brothers, ages 13 and 20, were jogging in a single-file line near Harned Road when they were struck by a minivan. Kaydanov was transported by ambulance to a local hospital due to the extent of her injuries. She later lost her life despite lifesaving efforts made by hospital staff. 

Her two brothers sustained injuries deemed non-life-threatening, according to reports. Investigators said the driver of the van and two passengers sustained no injuries in the collision.
