Brooklyn, NY (September 16, 2022) – An elderly woman drove her car through the front window of a fried chicken restaurant in Brighton Beach on Friday, September 16th, causing severe injuries to a customer enjoying an early lunch.
The woman, identified only as Sveta, was driving a Honda CRV when she claimed she lost control of the vehicle, causing her to crash into Palace Fried Chicken on Brighton Beach Avenue in the area of Beach 6th Street at about 10:45 a.m.
Entirely unbothered by the incident, Sveta insisted there was something wrong with the vehicle’s brakes as she leaned against the disabled car, smoking a cigarette, uninjured, while her victim waited for help.
The elderly man who was struck by the car as it smashed its way through the front window and into the counter was transferred to Lutheran Hospital in serious condition, including injuries to his legs and head.
