Brooklyn, NY – One Killed, Eight Injured in Collision with U-Haul at Bay Ridge Pkwy near Fifth Ave

Brooklyn, NY (February 13, 2023) – One person lost their life, and at least eight other people, including a policeman, were injured in a traffic accident in Brooklyn on Monday morning, February 12. 

At approximately 11:00 a.m., the individuals were struck by a U-Haul truck while they were walking on Bay Ridge Parkway near Fifth Avenue. The driver struck the pedestrians and then evaded authorities. 

The driver was eventually stopped near the BQE at Hamilton Avenue and Columbia Street in Red Hook. One of the pedestrians was killed in the collision, and several others sustained injuries. 

No one involved has been identified at this time. Police continue to investigate the details of the accident.
