New Jersey Semi Truck Accidents
Every year, the state of New Jersey sees tens of thousands of auto accidents. A percentage of these involve semi-trucks. Auto accidents that involve semi-trucks are almost always more severe than crashes that involved only passenger vehicles. This is due to the massive size and weight of semi-trucks compared to passenger cars. Semis are about 20 to 30 times heavier than cars, posing a serious threat to anyone who becomes involved in an accident with them.
Many of these accidents result in injuries and fatalities. In the US, over 3 million people are injured in car wrecks per year. Each day, over 17,000 auto accidents take place in the United States. Approximately 7,500 people sustain serious injuries and approximately 100 people lose their lives. Auto accidents take the lives of over 40,000 people annually. This is approximately the same number of people who are killed by guns every year.
When you or someone you love has sustained injuries in an auto accident, you may be faced with a plethora of difficulties. Painful injuries, financial problems, and emotional stress may be weighing you down and keeping you from your usual everyday life. You deserve to be able to make a full recovery after you’re seriously hurt in an accident, especially if it was caused by another person.
Negligent drivers cause millions of injuries and thousands of deaths every single year in the United States. Distracted driving is the most prevalent form of driver negligence in the US. This is due to the use of smartphones. The number of people who choose to text and drive has skyrocketed in the past ten years.
Being seriously hurt because of the actions of a negligent driver can be painful and frustrating. While you’re stuck in the hospital recovering, you won’t be able to work and make a living. This can cause you to fall behind on your bills, which can be overly stressful.
