New Jersey Semi Truck Accidents

A percentage of these involve semi-trucks. Auto accidents that involve semi-trucks are almost always more severe than crashes that involved only passenger vehicles. This is due to the massive size and weight of semi-trucks compared to passenger cars. Semis are about 20 to 30 times heavier than cars, posing a serious threat to anyone who becomes involved in an accident with them.

Many of these accidents result in injuries and fatalities. In the US, over 3 million people are injured in car wrecks per year. Each day, over 17,000 auto accidents take place in the United States. Approximately 7,500 people sustain serious injuries and approximately 100 people lose their lives. Auto accidents take the lives of over 40,000 people annually. This is approximately the same number of people who are killed by guns every year.
