Driver Loses Control, SUV Overturns on CR-519 in Hope Twp, NJ

Hope Township, NJ (July 31, 2026) – On Thursday afternoon, July 30, authorities were called to a serious crash on County Road 519 that left three people hurt in Hope Township. 

Officials said the crash happened around 1:29 p.m. near milepost 44.5 on County Road 519 north, in Warren County. A preliminary investigation found that the driver of a Dodge SUV lost control of the vehicle and veered off the right side of the roadway, struck a utility pole and a rock wall, and flipped over.

The SUV struck a utility pole and a rock wall before it overturned, according to investigators. A rear-seat passenger, identified as 62-year-old Chris S. Leininger of Menands, New York, was seriously injured and taken to an area hospital.

The driver and front-seat passenger were also wounded and taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The collision remains under investigation, and no further details have been released.
