Firefighters Hurt in Rues Rd House Fire in Upper Freehold, NJ

Upper Freehold Township, NJ (July 31, 2026) – Five firefighters were hurt Wednesday morning, July 29, while battling a house fire on Rues Road.

The Millstone Township Fire Department arrived at a home on Rues Road just after 9:15 a.m., following a report of a structure fire. Additional crews arrived soon after and worked to knock down the flames, which were brought under control by 10 a.m.

Three of the firefighters were taken to area hospitals for heat-related injuries, while two others were taken to a regional burn center for treatment. The crew reportedly dealt with a narrow roadway and other access challenges while fighting the fire.

The investigation into this incident remains active.
