Burn Injuries in New Jersey
A serious burn is a mentally and physically traumatic incident. Nearly everyone has experienced small burns from cooking or other common activity, but burns from residential fires often cover large portions of the body, are incredibly painful, and can lead to serious infections and skin loss, paving the way for other grave medical conditions.
As they heal, burns can leave disfiguring scars that demand surgical intervention and can make everyday movements difficult and painful.
A severe burn could take years to heal. In some cases, the victim never fully recovers. Burn victims usually require hospitalization in special wards where they have to endure multiple surgeries and other treatments to get their skin as useful and normal-looking as possible. A lot of victims also need psychiatric care to deal with the trauma of the fire and of living with disfiguring scars.
Suitable medical care for burn victims is costly. If your burn injuries were the result of another person’s careless, reckless, or malicious behavior, you are entitled to pursue compensation for your physical, financial, and emotional damages.
