Elmont, NY (January 25, 2024) – An injury pedestrian crash occurred in Elmont on Tuesday morning, January 23. Reports were made to police at around 8:00 a.m. concerning the incident that happened between Elmont Road and Plainfield Avenue. An individual was hit by a vehicle on the Hempstead Turnpike for reasons still being investigated by area authorities. At this time, the health condition of the injured victim has not been reported. For approximately three hours, the roadway was closed down while emergency responders worked at the scene. Authorities reopened the Turnpike around 10:44 a.m. At this time, other details are not available to report.
