Freeport, NY – Mia Pollidore Fatally Hit by Vehicle on Babylon Tpk near Carroll St
Freeport, NY (March 2, 2023) – Police in Freeport say a pedestrian lost their life in a fatal traffic accident on Wednesday, March 1. The victim was identified as 24-year-old Mia Pollidore, a Freeport resident.
Information from reports shows a man was operating a 2018 Nissan Sentra headed south on Babylon Turnpike near Carroll Street when he struck Pollidore. The circumstances of the accident have not been reported at this time.
Pollidore suffered traumatic injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Further investigations by authorities found that the driver of the Nissan was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
The driver was charged with vehicular manslaughter, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, and DWI.
