Hackensack, NJ – Four Injured in Bus vs SUV Crash at Maple, Highwood, & Park Avenues
Hackensack, NJ (October 26, 2022) – Four individuals suffered injuries in an auto collision that happened in Bergen County on Tuesday morning, October 25. At approximately 8:19 a.m., emergency crews were sent to the wreck site to render aid and investigate.
Sources say the incident occurred at the intersection of Maple, Highwood, and Park avenues for reasons still being investigated by police. The bus driver, a man, age 71, from Paterson, was headed east on Highwood Avenue when he was involved in a crash with an SUV.
Two special needs students, their aide, and the bus driver all sustained injuries in the collision. The adults were treated by paramedics at the crash scene, while the kids were transported by their parents to an area medical center for further treatment.
The students were being taken to a county facility in Paramus, according to information from officials. No one involved has been identified to the public at this time.
Authorities in Hackensack continue to investigate the details of the crash.
