Hamilton Twp, NJ – Jamyre Dewey Jr Killed in Two-Car Accident on Rt 40
Hamilton Twp, NJ (August 1, 2023) – An 18-year-old driver lost his life and his three passengers sustained injuries in a two-car crash in Atlantic County. The incident occurred on Route 40 just before 8:00 p.m.
Emergency responders went to the crash site shortly after the collision took place. Reports show the incident occurred on Route 40 when Jamyre Dewey Jr. was headed east on the roadway. He was involved in a head-on crash with an SUV headed west for currently unknown reasons.
Dewey, of Egg Harbor City, was pronounced deceased on-site. The incident happened near milepost 46.1, according to reports. Two passengers, both aged 18, were transported by life flight to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City with serious injuries. A 17-year-old was transported by ambulance.
The man driving the SUV, identified as a 66-year-old man from Wallingford, PA, was sent to the hospital with serious injuries. Police in Hamilton closed the highway for some time while they investigated the circumstances of the crash.
