Huntington Station, NY (March 9, 2026) – A pedestrian died after a hit-and-run accident on Sunday evening, March 8, in Huntington Station, according to Suffolk County police. The crash happened on New York Avenue just south of West 19th Street.
Authorities said the incident occurred at about 5:40 p.m. when a 44-year-old man walked west to east across New York Avenue, and a gray Toyota SUV traveling northbound struck him.

Investigators reported that the driver did not stop after the crash. The SUV continued northbound on New York Avenue and left the scene.
