Lacey, NJ – Head-On Accident Sends Two to Hospital on Lacey Rd near Dover Rd

Lacey, NJ (August 8, 2023) – A head-on crash ended in injuries in Lacey on Tuesday, August 8. At approximately 1:30 p.m., emergency crews went to the scene to help the people involved in the collision. 

Reports from authorities show the incident occurred on Lacey Road, west of Dover Road. A woman, age 46, was headed east when her vehicle, a 2021 Land Rover, crashed head-on with a 2005 Mazda Tribute operated by a resident of Whiting, age 77. 

The wreck caused the Land Rover to catch fire, which was extinguished by the Forked River Fire Department. The woman from Whiting suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. 

The driver of the Land Rover also suffered significant injuries and was taken to Community Medical Center for treatment. Neither has been identified at this time.

Responding agencies included Robert Wood Johnson Paramedics, Forked River Fire Department, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit along with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. 

Authorities in Lacey continue to investigate the details of the crash. We hope for the full recovery of the injured victims.
