Lakewood, NJ – Jayla Ortiz, Ceasia Jefferson, 17-Year-Old Male Killed in Horrific Auto Accident on Cedar Bridge Rd near New Hampshire Ave
Lakewood, NJ (October 11, 2023) – As previously reported, a fatal traffic collision took the lives of three young people in Lakewood on Saturday, October 7. Reports show the collision occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Cedar Bridge Road.
The wreck was so severe that both involved vehicles were torn in half, according to information from local police. A Honda Accord ran a red light on Cedar Bridge Avenue and struck a Dodge pickup truck, sources said.
Victims who lost their lives in the accident were identified as 23-year-old Jayla Ortiz, of Lakewood, Ceasia Jefferson, 24, of Neptune Township, and a male, age 17, from Lanoka Harbor in Lacey.
Two other individuals, identified as 23-year-old Alexis Holloway, of Berkely, and Mylani Theibault, 18, also of Berkely, remain in the hospital at this time.
The driver of the pickup, a 56-year-old man identified as Mathew Draheim, of Lakewood, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police in Lakewood continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
