What Evidence Should Be Preserved After a Motorcycle Crash in Bedminster, NJ?

Motorcyclist Ejected in Rear-End Crash on I-78

After a motorcycle crash, preserving evidence quickly a can make a significant difference, since physical evidence like skid marks, debris fields, and vehicle damage can be cleared or altered within hours. Photos of the scene, the damaged motorcycle, and any visible injuries are usually among the most useful records an injured rider can gather.

Motorcyclists ejected during a collision can sustain road rash, fractures, and head trauma, all of which can be well documented through medical records, emergency room notes, and follow-up treatment summaries. These records also help establish a clear timeline that connects the crash to the injuries later in a claim.

Beyond photos and medical records, a motorcycle accident lawyer can help secure the official state police crash report, request black box or event data recorder information from the car involved, and identify nearby traffic or dashcam footage before it's overwritten or deleted. Witness contact information is also worth gathering early, since memories fade and people can be difficult to locate weeks or months later.

At Metro Law, we have helped injured motorcyclists across New Jersey to gather the evidence they need to support their claim. If you or someone you know was involved in a crash, we can help explain what records and documentation may be worth preserving.
