Just a few years ago, a motorcycle safety study was performed. The study looked all-inclusively at motorcycle safety across the state. The Department of Transportation collected the data used in the report, which showed that the state had witnessed the smallest number of motorcycle deaths since 1998.

The report’s contributors also noticed some clear risk factors where fatal crashes were concerned:

  • Licensed drivers: 43% of deaths involved a motorcyclist without a proper license
  • Age: Roughly 56% of deaths were motorcyclists 35-years-old or younger
  • Sex: Nearly 100% of those who died in motorcycle accidents were men

Accidents are statistically more likely to happen in the afternoon and evening, with weekends being the days with the highest fatality rates. The rate of fatal accidents also rose substantially during the summer months.

Every motorcycle accident claim is different, but your New Jersey motorcycle accident attorney will know the most reliable and efficient ways to help you establish negligence and collect the maximum amount of financial compensation.
