Oxford, NY – Taylor M. Demuth Killed, Two Injured in Auto Accident on Hoben Rd near Millbrook Rd
Oxford, NY (February 9, 2023) – An 18-year-old lost his life, and two others were injured in a Wednesday afternoon crash in Oxford, Chenango County. The teen was identified as Taylor M. Demuth of Norwich.
Reports from New York State Police show the incident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. near 1100 Hoben Road. A teenager identified as Ayden N. Strong, 18, also from Norwich, was traveling on Hoben Road in a 1991 Chevrolet single-cab pickup truck when he failed to properly negotiate a curve. The vehicle overturned, police said.
During the accident, Demuth suffered fatal injuries when he was partially ejected from the truck. He was pronounced deceased on-site by medical professionals.
Two other individuals present in the vehicle at the time of the collision suffered injuries. State police rendered aid at the scene along with Greene EMS, Chenango County EMS, the Oxford Fire Department and Emergency Squad, and the Chenango County Fire Coordinators.
