New York Car Accidents
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a report stating that the United States has seen an 11% increase in car accidents since 2015. Every year, over 6 million car crashes are reported in the country that injure more than 3 million people. Sadly, about 40,000 people are killed in these accidents per year. Driver negligence is the leading cause of car wrecks in the United States, causing 90-99% of all reported car crashes.
Negligent drivers are one of the leading causes of New York auto accidents that end in serious personal injury. Whether it’s a driver who is speeding, texting, or simply not following traffic laws, their blatant indifference toward others often leads to collisions that could have been avoided.
As our country’s population keeps increasing, so does the amount of inexperienced, angry, careless, inattentive, and reckless drivers on our streets. Congested roadways are just one of the numerous factors attributed to the increased rate of auto collisions.
When two or more motor vehicles crash into one another, there are often multiple victims that are badly injured, along with expensive property damage. If you were obeying the driving laws when the accident occurred, then you will not be held financially responsible for any damages. You may also be entitled to bring a personal injury suit and collect compensation from the negligent driver and your insurance company.
