Rahway, NJ – UPDATE: Bolivar Guzman, Edison Erazo-Meza Killed in Two-Car Accident at Rt 1&9 near Maple Ave

Rahway, NJ (January 12, 2023) – A fatal two-car crash took the life of Rahway resident Bolivar Guzman on Sunday morning, January 8. The accident was reported to officials in the area, who promptly responded to the scene. 

A Jeep Gladiator driven by a male resident of Pennsylvania was headed east when it was struck by a Honda headed north. The crash happened at the intersection of Route 1&9 and Maple Avenue. 

Officials were at the scene at around 4:00 a.m. last Sunday. The driver of the Honda was identified as Bolivar Guzman. He died at the scene. A passenger present in the Honda was identified as Edison Erazo-Meza, 49, an Ecuadorian citizen. He was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where he succumbed to his injuries. 

The Jeep’s driver was transported to Trinitas Regional Medical Center for treatment and later released. Authorities in Rahway continue to investigate.
