Pedestrian Accidents in New Jersey
Pedestrian accidents in New Jersey have become a growing concern, especially along busy corridors like Route 37, where fast-moving vehicles and poor visibility can create dangerous conditions. These crashes often result in severe or fatal injuries because pedestrians have little protection against the force of a moving vehicle.
According to the New Jersey State Police, hundreds of pedestrian fatalities occur statewide each year. Many of these accidents happen at night or in poorly lit areas, and a significant number involve speeding or distracted driving. In Ocean County, intersections and highways with multiple lanes pose an even higher risk for pedestrians.
Common causes of pedestrian accidents include:
- Drivers failing to yield at crosswalks or intersections.
- Poor lighting and limited visibility during evening hours.
- Distracted or impaired driving.
- Pedestrians crossing outside designated areas.
When a pedestrian accident results in death, the victim’s family may have the right to pursue compensation through a wrongful death claim. This can cover funeral costs, medical expenses, lost income, and emotional suffering. Legal action not only helps families recover financially but can also promote safer road practices and accountability.
An experienced wrongful death attorney can help families investigate the crash, determine liability, and ensure insurance companies provide fair compensation. Legal guidance can make a difference when seeking justice for loved ones lost in avoidable accidents.
At Metro Law, we understand how devastating pedestrian accidents can be for victims and their families. Our legal team works tirelessly to help those affected seek justice and financial recovery after such tragic events.
