New Jersey Auto Accidents
Information collected by the New Jersey State Police shows that, in 2022, over 8,000 large truck crashes occurred in New Jersey. Of these wrecks, around 4,000 people were hurt, and approximately 60 people lost their lives. Compared to 2021, this represents a rise in both total deaths and crashes.
Truck accidents happen for a long list of different reasons. However, most happen due to negligent driving. Additionally, bad weather and mechanical problems are also crash contributors. Specifically, driver error/negligence is a main contributing factor to auto collisions in New Jersey and throughout the US. Drivers who speed, travel while distracted, or while overtired put themselves and everyone around them at severe risk of sustaining injuries or even losing their lives.
Commercial truck accidents usually result in injuries that are more severe and debilitating than other types of collisions due to their sheer size and weight when compared with other smaller passenger vehicles. The results can be substantially catastrophic when a heavy commercial truck and a passenger vehicle collide, especially for those who are occupying the smaller vehicle. Truck drivers and other drivers alike must remain alert, aware, and sober at all times in order to avoid events like this from happening.
