Vineland, NJ – Michael J. Cimback Jr. Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on W Landis Ave
Vineland, NJ (November 8, 2024) – A fatal pedestrian crash occurred on Thursday evening in Vineland, after a pedestrian was hit by two separate cars. The tragic incident, reported by the Vineland Police Department, took place just before 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of W Landis Ave and Coney Ave, across from the former Sears store.
According to the Vineland Police Department, the first crash occurred when the driver of a dark green Honda sedan, traveling westbound on West Landis Avenue, struck the pedestrian, who was pushing a shopping cart across the roadway. The driver of the Honda sedan, who failed to stop at the scene, continued westbound on Landis Avenue, fleeing the area without providing aid.
Moments after the initial collision, a second car, a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 36-year-old Isahit A. Cabrera-Galvez, also traveling westbound on West Landis Avenue, struck the pedestrian a second time. The impact from the second crash caused severe injuries to the pedestrian, later identified as 72-year-old Michael J. Cimback Jr.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the second impact and quickly began tending to the victim. The pedestrian was rushed by ambulance to Inspira Health Network, where despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Honda sedan, who fled the scene following the first crash, is still at large, and they are actively working to identify and locate the suspect. Investigators are gathering evidence from both accidents, and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
