West Windsor, NJ – Local Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Rt 1 at West Windsor Shopping Center

West Windsor, NJ (December 06, 2021) – A 64-year-old man from West Windsor Township died after he was hit by a car as he crossed the northbound lanes of Route 1 at The Square at West Windsor Shopping Center on Sunday, December 5th.

According to sources, at about 6:20 a.m., the man had just made his way across the deceleration lane leading into the shopping center, between Trader Joe’s and Lowe’s, and was attempting to cross the right lane of traffic when he was struck by a 31-year-old woman from Plainsboro driving a 2015 Nissan Altima.

The woman then drove onto the shoulder of the roadway and came to a stop. The man was impaled in the car’s windshield and front passenger compartment. He died at the scene.

All northbound lanes of Route 1 were shut down between Meadow Road and Quakerbridge Road for over three hours during the investigation, which was led by the West Windsor Police Department.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
