Intersection Vehicle Accidents in New Jersey

Mansfield, NJ - Rte 57 Site of Injury Auto Accident at Watters RdIn the United States, about 41% of all vehicle accidents happen at junctions, making them the most dangerous places on the roads.

Between the years 2008 and 2012, the counties of Ocean, Middlesex, and Essex had the greatest number of deaths in the state that were caused by intersection-related accidents. They are the third most common kind of automotive accident in the state of New Jersey and may be brought on by a variety of factors, the most common of which are the following:

  • An accident occurs when a driver refuses to give the right of way to other vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists.
  • Violation of laws pertaining to traffic signs and signals
  • Speeding and rolling stops

Even if a busy intersection has stop signs, yield signs, and traffic lights, there is still a chance that an accident may take place there. Even if there are signs and lights at the intersection, there will always be those who drive recklessly through the intersection. This is especially important to keep in mind for motorists who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
