
Monroe Twp., NJ (March 7, 2024) – A head-on collision early Thursday morning, March 6, claimed the life of one driver and left another injured in Monroe Township.
Authorities say the crash occurred around 6:40 a.m. near the intersection of Piney Hollow Road and Jackson Road. Investigations indicate that a Nissan Rogue traveling eastbound veered across the center line and entered the westbound lane, slamming into a Toyota Tundra.
The driver of the Nissan, a 41-year-old woman from Vineland, was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extracted by emergency personnel. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released her identity. The Toyota’s driver, a 34-year-old man from Waterford Works, sustained injuries in the crash. He was transported to Cooper Trauma for treatment. The severity of his injuries has not been disclosed. Authorities noted that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Speed may have played a role, though the accident remains under investigation.
