New Jersey Pedestrian Accidents
New Jersey pedestrian crashes occur all too frequently. In fact, maintaining the safety of pedestrians has become a serious problem in the Garden State, to such a degree that the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee has implemented awareness campaigns in order to help individuals become better acquainted with pedestrian safety regulations in the state.
Thousands of pedestrians are injured in crashes throughout the state of New Jersey every single year. These wrecks happen for several different reasons, however, the most common reason is currently driver negligence.
Pedestrians are traveling without protection constantly. This means that every time they go for a run, walk, jog, or bike ride, they risk sustaining severe, debilitating, or even fatal injuries if they become involved in a traffic accident. While things like jaywalking can undoubtedly cause accidents, most pedestrian crashes are caused by drivers who fail to yield the right-of-way.
