Six Hospitalized After Crash on Union Blvd in Islip, NY

Islip, NY (July 24, 2026) – Six people were taken to a hospital on Thursday night, July 23, after a two-vehicle crash at Union Boulevard and Islip Avenue.

The Suffolk police said a 2004 Buick sedan and a 2023 Honda sedan collided around 9 p.m. The Buick's 57-year-old driver and his 48-year-old passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries, as did the Honda's 74-year-old driver and his three passengers, ages 62, 57, and 58.

Emergency units used specialized equipment to free one trapped driver before transport. All six people were taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment.

Investigators continue to determine what led the two vehicles to collide at the intersection.
