What Are Your Legal Options After a Train Collision in Delran, NJ?

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
If you are hurt in a collision involving a commuter or light rail train in New Jersey, you may have the right to seek compensation but the process is more complex than a standard car accident claim. In New Jersey, a notice of claim against a public entity generally must be filed within 90 days of the date of injury. Missing that deadline can affect your ability to pursue a case.
Burlington County’s rail and roadway network includes numerous grade crossings where vehicles and trains share the same corridor. The River Line runs through densely populated communities between Camden and Trenton, which passes through townships like Cinnaminson, Riverside, and Bordentown along the way.
Crossings on roads like Route 130, Bridgeboro Road, and Main Street in Delran are active points of interaction between rail traffic and local drivers. Collisions at these crossings can cause serious injuries to vehicle occupants as well as train passengers.
People hurt in train-related collisions usually face head injuries, neck and back trauma, or soft tissue damage that does not fully present until hours or days after the collision. Those on board the train may experience whiplash or impact injuries even at relatively low speeds.
After a train accident, a personal injury attorney familiar with public transit claims can evaluate whether the circumstances of the crash support a legal claim and what documentation may strengthen it.
At Metro Law, we have experience with cases involving transportation-related injuries across New Jersey. A person can be eligible to seek compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and other damages depending on the specifics of their situation.
