Man Critically Hurt in Crash on Rte 530 in Manchester, NJ

Manchester, NJ (August 10, 2026) – A Whiting man was left with potentially life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle Sunday night, August 9, on County Route 530.

The Manchester Township Police were called to the intersection of County Route 530 and Swift Circle around 9:37 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian accident.

Officers found a 2013 Toyota Camry with front-end damage and an unresponsive man in a grassy area near the roadway. 

The man was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital for treatment. The driver was not hurt.

A portion of the roadway was closed for several hours while crews cleared the crash. Patrolman Anthony DeBlasio of the Manchester Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit continues to look into what led up to it.
