Sayreville, NJ – Hit & Run Crash Takes One Life on RT 35 near S Pine Ave

Sayreville, NJ (August 16, 2021) – In the early morning hours of Sunday, August 15, a 15-year-old was struck by a vehicle and killed on a roadway in Sayreville. The incident was reported to officials in the area at around 3:45 a.m., according to reports. 

Authorities believe that a Honda Accord was involved in the crash. The 15-year-old was walking on Route 35 in the vicinity of South Pine Avenue when they were struck by a car. Exactly how the accident took place remains under local law enforcement investigation at this time.

Various responders were observed at the scene including police and paramedics. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical professionals. 

Authorities in Sayreville continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident. Currently, no other information has been reported. 

The area in which the collision occurred was closed off to local drivers while responders worked at the scene. Motorists were asked to use alternative travel routes for the time being.
