Pennsauken, NJ (July 9, 2025) – Two people tragically lost their lives following a house fire that broke out late Sunday night in Pennsauken. On July 6, 11:30 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 1600 block of 48th Street after receiving reports of a residential blaze.
When the Pennsauken Fire Department arrived, they encountered heavy fire conditions on the second floor of the home. According to officials, two occupants were initially unaccounted for when crews began battling the flames. Firefighters, assisted by multiple responding units, made their way inside and located the victims on the second floor. Both individuals were removed from the structure, but sadly, they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control within approximately 40 minutes. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what sparked the fatal incident. No additional injuries have been reported in connection with the fire, and officials have not yet released the names of the victims.
